The community of Pedoulas, honoring the memory of its hero student Aristides Charalambous — who gave his life for Cypriot freedom on March 11, 1956 — will hold a National Memorial Service on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Holy Church of Timios Stavros (Holy Cross).
The Pedoulas Community Council, the Association of Expatriates & Friends of Pedoulas, the Church Committee, and the Hero’s relatives invite you to attend and pay tribute at this National Memorial Service in honor of our community’s Hero.
The memorial address will be delivered by the Minister of Defense, Mr. Vasilis Palmas.
A wreath-laying ceremony will follow at the Hero’s bust in the courtyard of the Pedoulas Gymnasium, and will be followed by a reception/breakfast at the Mountain Rose hotel-restaurant in Pedoulas.
At 12:00, at the same venue, a lunch will be held in honor of the official guests.
